Introduction:

100 Acre Wood Wildlife Rehabilitation, Inc. was incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation on January 23, 2006, in the State of Florida. The "woods" are situated less than a mile east of downtown Brooksville, FL, on a parcel of land made up of six city lots, at the end of Kohen road. It is an ideal safe hideaway for rehabilitating wildlife with its thickly wooded cloak and abundant plant life.

Founding member Linda Christian, a State and Federally licensed wildlife rehabilitator, serves as the Board of Directors and lives onsite as the "keeper" of the woods, its mammals, birds and reptiles. A fan of Winnie the Pooh led Christian to name the site after Pooh bears' 100 Acre Wood and while some are disappointed to find less than 2 acres they are quickly absorbed by the unique landscape created to nurture and heal maimed and hurt wildlife.
